If you have The Platinum Card® from American Express or the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, hundreds of dollars of credits are expiring on June 30th.
These credits don’t bank over time. Sadly, it’s use it or lose it. Below, I’ve listed each of the expiring credits, my top tips to use them efficiently, and any strategies I have for storing value!

The Platinum Card® from American Express
SEMI-ANNUAL CREDITS (Jan 1 to Jun 30, 2026)
Up to $300 Hotel statement credit
Book via Amex Travel portal (Fine Hotels + Resorts™ or The Hotel Collection™)
Only eligible on prepaid reservations
Booking minimums: FHR = 1-night minimum allowed; THC = 2-night minimum required
Credit triggers once the prepaid hotel charge posts
You don't need to travel before June 30, you just need to book and pay in this period to use this period’s credit. You can book stays into late 2026 or even 2027.
This is the first half of the $600 annual hotel credit; the second $300 opens Jul 1. You could technically stack next period’s credit next to your booking made this period to extend your stay.
Note: you’re technically only meant to get one property credit per stay, so it would be at the hotels discretion if they gave you one or both property credits on the stay.Sometimes I use MaxFHR.com to search many cities at once so I can decide which trip I want to use the credit on. It’s a database of pricing that helps you find affordable stays (quickly) where you can use your credit. Then finalize dates and make the booking direct through Amex Travel.
Compare pricing with the hotel website direct to make sure it’s not inflated too much through Amex Travel.
Up to $50 Saks Fifth Avenue statement credit
Shop online or in-store and pay with Platinum Card.
Credit triggers after the charge posts.
Last call on this one: the Saks credit is being discontinued after Jun 30, 2026, so the second-half $50 is not returning.
Here’s my under $50 Saks pick. Purchase quickly because Saks charges are notorious for posting slowly.
Paying for shipping is annoying, I know.
QUARTERLY CREDITS (Q2: Apr 1 to Jun 30, 2026) Value for this period: $175
Up to $100 Resy Dining statement credit
You don't need to book through Resy. The restaurant just needs to be listed on the Resy website and needs to have the “Resy credit eligible” tag on the listing.
Pay at the restaurant with your Platinum Card; the credit triggers after the charge posts.
Works for takeout if you order directly with the restaurant, not through a third party like Uber Eats.
Some restaurant gift cards may trigger the credit, but you’re taking on some risk with that methodology — it will differ from restaurant to restaurant.
Up to $75 Lululemon statement credit
Shop online, in-store, or in-app and pay with Platinum Card; the credit triggers after the charge posts.
Does not work at outlet locations.
Lululemon only sells gift cards in $50 increments.
Rakuten seems to have ended their relationship with Lululemon, sadly.

Chase Sapphire Reserve®
SEMI-ANNUAL CREDITS (Jan 1 to Jun 30, 2026)
Up to $150 Dining statement credit
Restaurant must be a Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables location (select your city or filter for nearby).
Pay at the restaurant with your Sapphire Reserve. Credit triggers after the charge posts.
Up to $150 StubHub / viagogo statement credit
Buy tickets through StubHub or viagogo and pay with your Sapphire Reserve
Credit triggers after the charge posts
You can usually earn bonus points on the purchase if you activate an offer through Rakuten. If you don’t yet have Rakuten, sign up here and get 5,000 bonus points when you make a purchase over $50.
I’ve also been using the “Pay With Paze” promotion to earn an additional 10X points on StubHub (plus United and Sephora).
Frequently asked questions
Which credit card credits expire June 30, 2026? On The Platinum Card® from American Express: the first-half $300 hotel credit, the up to $100 Resy credit, the up to $75 Lululemon credit, and the up to $50 Saks credit (which is being discontinued after June 30). On the Chase Sapphire Reserve®: the first-half $150 dining credit and $150 StubHub/viagogo credit.
Do unused credit card statement credits roll over? No. Semi-annual credits that go unused in the first-half window expire at the reset and do not carry into the second half. Each period stands alone, which is why the mid-year check matters.
Can I use the Amex Platinum hotel credit if I'm not traveling yet? Yes. The credit applies when you make the prepaid booking through Amex Travel, not when you take the trip. You can book a stay now for travel later in 2026 or 2027 and still use the current credit.
What is the Amex Platinum hotel credit worth? Up to $300 semi-annually, for up to $600 per calendar year, on prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings through Amex Travel. The Hotel Collection requires a two-night minimum stay.
Does the Chase Sapphire Reserve Edit credit expire June 30? No. As of January 2026 the up to $500 Edit by Chase Travel credit runs on the calendar year with no half-year split, so it has no June deadline.
Why should I use the Sapphire Reserve credits before the actual deadline? Because the merchant's charge submission date controls which half-year the spend counts toward, and processing can lag a day or two. Using a credit on June 30 risks it posting July 1 and landing in the wrong window.
